Okay, here goes...

I couldn't wait any longer...so here's the pics from my latest creations!

I started out cutting them for gifts and placing on 12 inch tiles...but I wanted to see just how small I could go in vinyl...

...and placed this 6 by 6 inch piece on a glass block.

The Monogram Tiles (Complete) file includes the entire alphabet of pre-laid out monograms. I've even figured out ways for the smaller cutter owners (like WB, craftrobo, and silhouette) to cut the full size of 11.5 by 11.5 inches. Even "Baby Bug" Cricut users can cut up to 8.5 by 8.5 inches!

I've also created a font (aye, yi, yi! another new "addiction") to make it easy for you to type your desired name and add the swash if desired (for shorter surnames). It's included in the file with your purchase!

So...get your order for vinyl (glossy but permanent adhesive if you want to apply sealer over top or matte with a removable adhesive for wall art without commitment) ready.

BTW, if you're new to the wonderful world of vinyl...there's a pretty good tutorial HERE showing weeding and transferring.

What? A tease?!?

Well, I never...okay, sometimes I do!

And, because I'm feeling particularly impish today...I'm going to show another little sneak of my project today!

So, what do you have to say about that? Hmmm????

A very long weekend...

Thanks for all the love, I hope you enjoyed the day with family and friends! Did anybody have any great shopping finds to share? I actually went to Walmart at midnight just to have them price match something from Toys-R-Us's ad, but ended up getting a cart full of stuff and sitting in line for the next 5 hours chatting with folks until we could check out at 5 AM. Crazy, huh?!

Okay, so it's killing me not to share more about this next file with you yet, but the conversions have been killer! I am almost done finalizing it, and then will load it to the store, but I've got to tell you, I think you'll love it! Okay, so I'll share just a sneak peek for right now.

Just wait...I'll share the rest soon!

Don't forget! You can still save a bundle on my files at Paperthreads (today all are 30% off and tomorrow you can still save 20%! BF sales at most of the stores aren't that good!)

I'm so excited!

I'm so excited! I've FINALLY got new files loaded up to the store at Paperthreads!

That's right, 15 new files (some you may have seen if you were a member in the Scrapbooking, Cards, & More Club) including a few that will be just perfect for your Christmas preparations. You've already seen the Santa's Boot Print, now check out my Flourish Tree.
This file includes the swirly tree (which cuts in one piece). It is sized at 4 by 6 inches, so is just perfect for your Christmas card fronts or as an accent on your scrapbooking pages. Think of it with added dew drops, skittles, or even extra buttons as ornaments! What do you think?

Warning, don't look with little ones around! LOL!

Seriously, I'm warning you, don't read the rest of this post if you have little kiddos nearby, particularly the ones that still believe in the Big Guy with the red suit,...KWIM?

I've got some new files up at Paperthreads, one of which can really help you share the magic of Christmas with your kiddos. It's a file of Santa's Boot Print.

Instructions are included for making and using this as a stencil to leave "evidence" of the Big Guy's visit on Christmas Eve.

Just a quick pic...

I was going through the camera today, trying to get some items downloaded, to make some room...and came across some pics of my kiddos at Halloween. They were both pirates!, Aaaargh! Me hearties, I love them so!

The cool thing is that now they can keep using the costumes for dress-up play, we constantly are being raided by the rogues!

"Sweet" savings!

Walgreen's has Eagle Brand Sweetened Condensed Milk on sale this week for $1.79 (with their in-ad coupon). Depending on how many you buy, you can use the coupon for $2 off of the purchase of 2 cans or the 55 cents off the purchase of one can that should be in tomorrow's Red Plum coupon insert. That means you can get the Sweetened Condensed Milk for as low as 79 cents per can after coupons!

Alright, so you're not a baker, and you want to know what to do with two cans of sweetened condensed milk? Well, how about homemade dulce de leche, or caramel sauce?

The SAFE ways, according to Nestle, are as follows...

To Caramelize sweetened condensed milk:

Oven method
- Pour 1 can sweetened condensed milk into 9 inch pie plate. Cover with foil; place in larger shallow pan. Fill larger pan with hot water. Bake at 425 degrees for 1 1/2 hours or until thick and caramel colored. Beat until smooth.

Stovetop Method- Pour 1 can condensed milk into top of double boiler; place over boiling water. Over low heat, simmer 1 to 1 1/2 hours or until thick and caramel colored. Beat until smooth.

Microwave Method- Pour 1 can condensed milk into 2 quart glass measure. cook on 50 % power (medium) for 4 minutes, stirring briskly every 2 minutes until smooth. cook on 30% power (medium-low) 12-18 minutes ot until very thick and caramel colored, stirring briskly every 2 minutes until smooth.

Of course, many people remember their moms or grandmums making this caramel sauce, or more appropriately dulce de leche, a different way...right in the can! Now, I will not be responsible for damage to your kitchen, your body, or anything else if you choose to follow information shared in the rest of this post...

OLD FASHIONED DIRECTIONS :
1. Remove the label from the can of Sweetened condensed milk. Immerse closed/sealed can on its side in a pot of boiling water. MAKE SURE THE CAN IS FULLY COVERED WITH WATER! If you're doing all this work for one can, you might as well toss several more in there too!

2. Leave on a simmer or light boil for 2 hours topping off with water as needed. Be careful and don’t let the water dry out or go below the level of the can.

3. Remove from heat and let cool thoroughly before opening can. The Sweetened Condensed Milk should be thick and a nice caramel color. If you continue to cook it longer, it will thicken in consistency, and be more like soft, melted texture at 3 hours. If it's not as thick or carmelized as you want when you do open the can, you could always use one of the methods above (stovetop or microwave) to finish carmelizing the sweetened condensed milk. Now, your mileage may vary, particularly with different altitudes, so, PLEASE BE CAREFUL if you try this method!

4. If done this way, the caramel sauce should last as long as the original date on the can, since it is still sealed from the factory.

A "cool" deal!

Just a little savings to pass along to you...
Home Depot is offering a Christmas Light Trade-In November 5th through the 15th. The deal is, trade in your old or even broken incandescent light strands for $3 off of the cost of a strand of LED lights. Some folks have reported that the LED strands only cost $6.97 right now, which brings the cost to just under $3. The real benefit is in the long term electricity savings! (*and in how many you can plug end to end without blowing the fuse! LOL!)

BTW, I haven't had a chance to stop by my HD yet, but these LED light strands might work well for the glass block projects, because then you wouldn't have to worry about them heating up. Of course, 50 LED lights might be pretty bright!

So, anyone out there used LED lights before? Any takers this year?
