You know those little "loveys" for babies with tags and ribbon all around the edges? Well, my DD has this tendency to pick at threads and seams in things when she gets tired or fidgety. We've been going through some rough nights (lots of waking up crying about "bubbles" and "nightmares in my room"). She has a little stuffed animal which is her "magic sparkly cow" to make the bubbles stay away, but I decided something else was in order.
It's been soooooo long since I pulled out my sewing machine for anything other than sewing a patch on my DS's jeans or taking in the waist of my skinny kids' clothes! I found this adorable (and girly!) monkey fabric last month and picked up several rolls of patterned and different textured ribbons. I made this blanket as a throw or for her crib just by stitching two lengths of flannel (monkeys on the front and s batik style pattern in pink on the back) face to face after inserting an assortment of ribbons in the one edge seam. Now she has her own "big girl version" of a baby lovey. It makes a cute fringe for the top of the blanket too!

Floral Star Paper Lantern
I promised earlier that the upcoming Scrapbooking, Cards, & More Membership Club was going to get to choose which star lantern pattern they wanted included in the club, right? LOL! Well, that means you need to see the other options, right?
Here's the second file I designed. This one has 6 points, so I could alternate the colors of cardstock used.
I designed the flowers for the cut outs to coordinate with the paper I picked, but even with plain colored cardstock it looks really pretty (especially in the dark)!
So, what do you think?

Birthday Wishes!
I realized things have been so hairy this last month that I never shared with you the pics of some things I did for my kiddos birthday party. They nearly share a birth "day", so we have their party together. That means trying to come up with party themes for a older boy and a younger girl.
My DD has been going on for the last few months about "Going to a party at the castle...", it's something her toy princess phone spouts frequently! My son has his own play castle (you may have seen pics HERE before). So...we opted to go with a castle themed party.
Now, you know I can't do much without involving a cutting file of some kind, right?! I'll share some pics of the pop-up invitation later. Here are photos of my DD's cupcakes.
You can see the top layer is a bunch of princess crowns, the lower layers are made of of little castles. Here's a close-up of one.
You can find the Castle Cupcake wrapper HERE at Paperthreads.

Play ball!
Juat wanted to share with you a preview of some new stick figures coming to my section at Paperthreads. I'm not sure how they'll be "packaged" yet, I still need to finish converting to all the formats.
So here you go Pat! I think these were all you were looking for and then some!

Swirly paper lantern (lit up!) and more!
Thanks for all the comments on my paper lights. I finally got a pic to share with you of it all lit up.
Isn't is cool? It's definitely been a challenge, working out the lighting, a way to keep the light closed, a hanging method...and then there's coming up with instructions! Woo-hooo! I'm working on a video so that it's easier to see how to assemble.
If you like the star and want to get the cutter file...you're in luck! I'm in charge of the Scrapbooking, Cards, & More Membership Club at Paperthreads.
Haven't heard about this yet? It's an awesome way to get a lot of files for your electronic die cutting machine really inexpensively. You can see all the fine print HERE, but essentially, you get 20 + brand new, never released files designed by me for only $10! You can buy the member ship now, but the membership club doesn't start until August. I hope to show some previews of the files that will be included here on my blog, so keep your eye out.
So, how does the star relate to the Scrapbooking, Cards, & More Membership Club? Well...I promise you that there will be at least one paper lantern file in the membership only files! I have been working on a few different designs and will preview those here soon, but I'm going to let the members of the club choose which variation they like best!
