Sweet times

Well, we've never done a gingerbread house before this year...and now that we've done one I'm not sure we will again, LOL!

Actually I had purchased one of the Wilton's pre-baked kits at Michael's the week before Christmas, but something kept sneaking up on us and we never got around to making it.

We finally got the box out 2 weeks ago and mixed up the packaged royal meringue icing mixture. I think I made it a little too loose, because it just didn't harden up very quickly. No matter, our window frames were a little saggy, and the icicles on the eaves a little longer than expected, but the kids had a blast!

Here's a look at the final, "snowy" outcome.

  2. That looks like fun! We made a gingerbread house 2 years ago! LOL! It always looks so easy on TV! I thought world war 3 was going to break out amongst the kids...maybe when they are older...
